See the day a week-end cash total can hide

The Service Business Cash Timing Planner helps small agencies, studios and consulting firms place outstanding receipts and planned payments on real dates. Review 91 day-end balances and a 13-week summary before recording the owner’s next actions.

A week can close above your minimum cash floor while an earlier day falls below it. This workbook shows the weekly closing balance and the lowest daily balance separately.

Follow a complete cash review

  1. Reconcile opening available cash and set a Monday start, minimum cash floor and currency label.
  2. Enter up to 300 outstanding cash instalments with dates, category, owner and evidence reference. Resolve row-specific warnings.
  3. Review the daily chart, lowest balance, first floor breach and 13 weekly summaries.
  4. Switch between Base and Delayed receipts. The same calculation moves receipts by your entered calendar-day delays; payment dates remain unchanged.
  5. Record up to 20 proposed actions with owners, dates and evidence. Update cash assumptions manually after the relevant agreement.

A concrete fictional example

Week 1 ends at USD9,500, while its lowest day-end cash is USD4,500 against a USD5,000 floor. The delayed-receipts case lowers the 91-day minimum to negative USD9,500 and shows a USD14,500 gap to that same floor. One delayed receipt falls beyond the horizon and is counted separately.

These figures illustrate planning assumptions, not customer results, realized savings or approved finance. The chart shows the selected case only.

Follow a worked cash-timing example

Read the weekly cash forecast and daily cash-gap guide for a seven-day fictional schedule, a delayed receipt and a repeatable owner review. The guide is free to read and includes reproducible arithmetic.

Built for an owner review

The dated register keeps cash amounts connected to counterparties and evidence. Duplicate literal event IDs, selected missing inputs, past included dates and invalid active delay assumptions are flagged. Missing inputs remain unavailable rather than silently becoming healthy zero forecasts. An action marked Done needs a result reference, but the workbook does not verify that the referenced evidence is true.

Software and boundaries

Actual open, edit, recalculate, save, close and reopen checks were completed in Microsoft Excel for Windows version 16.0, build 20430, on disposable copies of both workbooks. The blank-to-complete workflow, two cases, selected errors, a native chart and category validation were checked. Google Sheets, Apple Numbers, mobile apps and other Excel editions have not been tested.

Use one currency. This is a 91-calendar-day, day-end plan with fixed prepared ranges, not an intraday clearing model or accounting system. It has no bank connection/import, invoice collection, messages, tax engine, FX, automatic lending, interest schedule, payment execution or forecast-versus-actual archive. Adding rows below the prepared ranges does not extend the model. Source completeness and actual supplier/customer terms require human confirmation.

License and delivery scope

One purchase covers one end brand or organization and its internal operators. You may edit and reuse the files internally and share finished non-editable outputs for that brand. Resale or public sharing of the editable source is prohibited. Software subscriptions are separate.

For a project-economics review, compare the Studio Project Profit and Cash Planner and check its current included files before choosing. This planner focuses on individual future cash dates and within-week balances.
